Schnauzer - Toto - Small - Senior - Male - Dog
ADOPT ME!
Toto (NCSR #147) is a 9 year old (DOB 8/20/2002) salt & pepper mini schnauzer male who weighs about 20 lbs. Toto originally came to us 4 years ago as an owner surrender and we adopted him out to a wonderful family. Unfortunately, Toto is coming back into NCSR, as his owner has some medical issues that will impede them being able to care for Toto. At NCSR, our dogs remain "family" for the remainder of their life, so we find ourselves needing to find Toto another forever family. Toto is a sweet boy with lots of love to give. He needs a special home, as he is diabetic and will require insulin shots twice a day to keep him in good health. We realize many people may shy away from this boy because of that reason, but this little guy has a lot of love to give, and we would love to see him in a happy family where he can spend the rest of his days loved and cared for. NCSR has folks that are familiar with caring for a diabetic dog, and we will be glad to answer any questions a potential adopter may have about his care! Before any of our mini schnauzers are adopted to their new homes, we assure that the following has been done for them (these medical costs can add up, and are a primary reason we charge Adoption Fees and constantly need donations): --All dogs are spayed or neutered (assuming they have no medical conditions to prevent this.)
--Heartworm check & intestinal worm check, treatments given if needed.
--Given or assured they are up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations
--Ears are checked for infection, ear mites, & treated if needed.
--Micro-chipped (NCSR remains Primary contact for the lifetime of the dog, new owners are added as secondary contacts.)
--Dental cleanings are optional and may not be done for every dog, but will be done if it is recommended by the Vet as a necessity at this time. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees as to longevity or personality.
